Volleyball is the centerpiece of our sports lineup — the most attended, most competitive tournament on the SHNY calendar.
Teams travel from across California and neighboring states to compete at Cal Expo from November 27–29, 2026. Youth Boy's and Youth Girl's divisions play Friday, November 27, and the Men's and Women's divisions run Saturday and Sunday, November 28–29.
Four divisions compete for cash: Men's pays $4,000 to the champion, Women's pays $2,000, and both youth divisions pay $1,000 — with second and third place paid in every division. All youth players must be 17 and under.
Each division requires its minimum number of teams to run as listed.
Teams divided into pools of 4. Each team plays the other three teams in their pool — best of three sets, rally scoring to 25.
Top two teams from each pool advance to Sunday's championship bracket. Remaining teams compete in the consolation bracket.
Single-elimination bracket. Each round is best of three sets. Two losses sends a team home; one championship path remains.
Youth Boy's and Youth Girl's divisions are open to players ages 17 and under. Youth divisions play Friday, November 27. ID verification at check-in.
Men's requires a minimum of 20 teams; Women's, Youth Boy's, and Youth Girl's each require a minimum of 10 teams.
Unsportsmanlike behavior — toward refs, opponents, or spectators — results in warnings, point penalties, or disqualification at the tournament director's discretion.
Both youth divisions play their full competition day at Cal Expo. Open to players ages 17 and under, with cash prizes awarded to the top three teams.
The Men's and Women's divisions open with round-robin pool play across all courts, setting seeding for Sunday's bracket.
Single-elimination bracket play in both divisions. Quarterfinals → Semifinals → Championship match.
Final match in both divisions, followed by cash prize distribution — $4,000 to the Men's champion and $2,000 to the Women's champion.
