A celebration of beauty, talent, and resilience — empowering young Hmong women to become confident leaders, cultural ambassadors, and role models for generations to come.
The Miss Hmong California Pageant is dedicated to celebrating the beauty, talent, and resilience of Hmong women while preserving and promoting Hmong culture, traditions, and values.
Our mission is to empower young Hmong women to become confident leaders, cultural ambassadors, and positive role models within their communities and beyond. Each year, contestants train, compete, and grow — emerging not only with new opportunities but with a deeper connection to their heritage and a stronger voice for the future.
The reigning Miss Hmong California serves a year-long term as an ambassador for SHNY, representing our organization at community events, scholarship ceremonies, and cultural celebrations across California and the nation.
Contestants present custom-made traditional Hmong dress, representing the rich textile heritage and craftsmanship of their creativity.
A personal performance — vocal, instrumental, dance, spoken word, or visual art — that reflects the contestant's individual gifts.
Onstage interview where contestants speak to their platform, community involvement, and vision for Hmong cultural preservation.
A formal presentation emphasizing poise, grace, and stage presence — the final round before crowning the new Miss Hmong California.
Beyond the stage, contestants are scored on community engagement, mentorship, and a service project of their own design.
The reigning queen passes her crown to the next ambassador in a ceremony honoring both heritage and the future of our community.
