The crowd-pleaser. A double-elimination bracket held right on the festival grounds — open to all ages. Bring a partner, sign up, and play. The most accessible tournament on the schedule.
Cornhole is the most accessible tournament on the SHNY schedule. No special equipment, no team logistics, no travel — just you, a partner, and the boards.
The 2v2 format and double-elimination bracket keep it casual without losing the competitive edge. Teams of two register together, get a guaranteed minimum of two matches, and the bracket rolls from morning through afternoon on a single festival day.
Open to all ages — from kids playing alongside their grandparents to longtime cornhole league players who travel the regional circuit. It's where the festival's competitive spirit meets its most welcoming front porch.
Teams of two register together. Partners alternate throwing bags. Players stand at opposite boards and throw to their partner's board.
Standard ACL cancellation scoring. Bag in hole = 3 points. Bag on board = 1 point. Each team's points cancel the opponent's per round.
Match is first team to reach exactly 21 points. Going over 21 sends your team back to 15. Strategy matters — not just power.
Two losses to be eliminated. Winners bracket and losers bracket run in parallel. Loss in winners bracket drops you to the losers bracket, not out.
Official ACL-regulation boards and SHNY-provided bags. Players welcome to bring their own bags as long as they pass tournament-director inspection.
Unlike other tournaments, cornhole runs a single open bracket — kids, parents, grandparents, and seasoned league players compete together. Skill, not age, decides the day.
Day-of registration available at the cornhole pavilion. Pre-registered teams check in and pick up their bracket placement. Warm-up boards open.
First-round matches kick off across multiple boards. Tournament director announces match assignments. Spectators welcome to gather around the boards.
Field narrows to the top 8. Stakes rise. Players move to the main boards in front of the festival crowd.
Both winners-bracket and losers-bracket semifinals play out. Path to the championship match becomes clear.
Championship match. If the losers-bracket finalist beats the winners-bracket finalist, a "true final" is played. Trophy and prizes awarded immediately after.
