The 21st Annual Sacramento Hmong New Year Festival brings together 40,000+ attendees in a multi-day celebration of heritage, art, sport, and the enduring spirit of the Hmong people in America.
The Hmong are an ethnic group from Southeast Asia whose story stretches across mountains, oceans, and generations. After the Vietnam War, many resettled in the United States, where today over 330,000 Hmong Americans — and 115,000 here in California — continue to build, lead, and thrive.
Sacramento Hmong New Year, Inc. is a non-profit cultural hub. We connect the Hmong community with local businesses, civic organizations, and the broader public to build mutual respect, shared experiences, and a future where our heritage thrives.
Our annual festival is more than an event — it is a cultural landmark, an economic engine, and a homecoming for tens of thousands of families across the nation.
From pageantry to athletics, the Sacramento Hmong New Year hosts a rich slate of competitions and cultural showcases. Each program is a doorway — for youth, for artists, for athletes, and for the entire community to share in something larger than themselves.
