ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Hmong Idol is an exciting talent competition that highlights the vocal artistry and musical creativity of the Hmong community’s most gifted. This dynamic event serves as a stage where singers of all ages can express their passion for music and share their unique voices with a supportive audience. By blending tradition and modern influences, Hmong Idol creates a space where cultural heritage and storytelling come to life through song.
More than just a competition, Hmong Idol is a celebration of talent, resilience, and cultural pride. Participants have the opportunity to compete for recognition, gain valuable performance experience, and inspire others within the community. Whether it’s through soulful ballads or powerful anthems, each performance enriches the event, fostering connection and support from both judges and spectators.
PROGRAM DETAILS
Hmong Idol is a 2-day competition that takes place during the Sacramento Hmong New Year celebration. Contestants will showcase their vocal talents across multiple rounds for a chance to win recognition and prizes.
This program is open to all ages. However, contestants under the age of 18 must have parental consent in writing to participate.
A minimum of five contestants is required for the competition to take place. If fewer than five participants register, the event may be postponed, rescheduled, or canceled to ensure a competitive and engaging experience for all involved.

Performances are evaluated by a panel of judges who asses based on:
