Breakdancing is an electrifying gathering that celebrates the art of freestyle breakdancing and hip-hop culture’s.
With DJ-curated breakbeats, funk, and hip-hop tracks driving the energy, the music sets the tone for creativity and movement. Open to all skill levels, the cypher welcomes experienced b-boys and b-girls as well as newcomers, inviting everyone to share their passion for dance in a dynamic and supportive environment.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Breakdancing, introduced in 2022, has rapidly grown into one of the most popular and exciting attractions, captivating audiences with its energy and creativity. Its dynamic performances and the unique blend of athleticism and artistry have made it a centerpiece of the event, drawing enthusiastic crowds year after year.
As the program continues to grow, dancers from some of the biggest dance communities all over the Bay Area, the Sacramento and Central Valleys attend Sacramento Hmong New Year for an opportunity to win awards and cash prizes.
PROGRAM DETAILS
The Breakdancing Cypher follows an exciting 2v2 format, where teams face off in dynamic and high-energy battles.
Each category begins with a single round, allowing competitors to showcase their unique styles and strategies. The structure of the event is designed to adapt based on the number of participants, ensuring a fair and engaging experience for everyone involved. As the competition advances to the Semi-Finals, the intensity ramps up with two rounds per match, giving teams more opportunities to demonstrate their creativity, skill, and coordination. Finally, the Finals culminate in a thrilling two-round face-off, where the best of the best compete for ultimate victory, leaving it all on the floor in a showcase of exceptional talent and artistry.

This battle welcomes participants of all age groups, including children, teens, and adults. For younger participants, it provides an inspiring way to connect with their passion for movement while fostering creativity and collaboration. For spectators, the competition offers a thrilling opportunity to witness the artistry, athleticism, and resilience of breakdancing culture, making it an unforgettable highlight of the event.
